Die Casting Process

Die casting injects molten aluminum alloy into precision steel dies under high pressure. Robots automate loading, casting and cooling on this 1600-ton cell. It delivers lightweight, dimensionally stable metal parts with smooth surfaces for automotive and energy hardware mass production.

Die Casting Mold Design Process

Full Standard Workflow

1.Product DFM Analysis
Conduct manufacturability review based on customer part drawings; check wall thickness, draft angle, fillet and undercut to optimize casting structure, avoid shrinkage, crack and difficult demolding issues.

2.Mold Flow Simulation
Run filling & solidification simulation to analyze molten metal flow, air trapping and temperature distribution, then optimize gate, overflow and cooling layout in advance.

3.Overall Mold Structure Design
Complete layout of cavity, gating system, cooling circuit, ejection mechanism, slider & lifter, mold base and mounting structure according to production volume and machine tonnage.4.4. 2D & 3D


4.2D & 3D Drawing Output
Generate full 3D mold assembly model, plus detailed 2D engineering drawings for mold parts, marking machining tolerance and material requirements.

5. Material Selection & Processing Planning
Select mold steel (H13, SKD61 etc.), arrange CNC milling, EDM, wire cutting, polishing and heat treatment procedures for mold core & cavity.

6.Mold Trial & Revision
Complete mold manufacturing, conduct trial casting; adjust mold structure, cooling and gating system according to sample defects until qualified parts are produced.

7. Mold Delivery & Technical Handover
Deliver finished mold together with drawings, processing files and operation instructions to customers.
